For most, the home buying process now begins in front of a computer or phone screen instead of in front of a yard sign. The internet has had an undeniable, permanent effect on how REALTORSĀ® market properties, and with COVID-19 causing an even more pronounced uptick in online home searching, pictures may now be worth more than a thousand words of description.

Even if you have a virtual tour of your listing, the property photos are what many home search websites feature first when someone clicks for more information on a property. Photos are your listing's first impression to potential buyers, and as a REALTORĀ®, your job is to show that listing in best light possible.

Maybe you're having professional photography done for the listing or maybe you're taking the photos yourself. Either way, the home needs to be prepared for its photo debut. That can mean anything from removing the magnets on the fridge and the garden hose on the back lawn to helping your clients remove clutter.
