In early March, a tornado tore through Lee County, Alabama, killing 23 people and leaving behind a path of destruction. The area is still just beginning recovery from the tragedy. It's a headline that hit close to home for Bellator Real Estate & Development agents Melisa Dotson and Louise Johnson. Melisa grew up in the area, and Louise's family calls the area home, too. Together they began collecting supplies from fellow Bellator agents and staff to aid in Lee County's recovery efforts.

"Having grown up in Lee County, I was deeply saddened to hear of the horrible destruction and loss of lives. That's why it was so special to have Bellator support in the relief efforts," Melisa said. "Honestly, I believe that's the spirit of Bellator as a whole—helping those in need and giving back. It's not just about real estate. "
On Friday, March 22, the two, along with President Troy Wilson and Eastern Shore Managing Broker David Horn, traveled to Lee County to serve lunch to the Lee County Sheriff's Office and deliver recovery supplies. Bellator purchased all the smoked Boston butts from Fast Times/Fred's Kickin Chicken in Daphne, serving pork barbeque, potato salad, beans, chips and drinks to more than 70 people. Between those who came to eat and those who were brought lunches, they served approximately 110 meals.
"It was an opportunity for us to serve those who are out in the field making recovery efforts possible each day in Lee County," President Troy Wilson said. "It was an honor to be able to serve them in some small way."

To make the most of the trip, the Bellator team delivered the more than 800 pounds of dog food to the Lee County Humane Society. Bellator agents and staff also purchased cases of water, toilet paper, diapers, trash bags and feminine care products to a local church for distribution.
