According to the Midtown Mobile Movement, they generally include: Ashland Place, which runs from Ryan Avenue to Levert Avenue between Old Shell Road and Spring Hill Avenue; The Campground, which runs from North Ann Street to Rylands Street; Carlen-Midtown, which runs from Bienville Avenue to Elizabeth Place between Airport Boulevard and Spring Hill Avenue; Leinkauf, which runs from South Ann Street to Houston Street between Virginia Street and Government Street; Oakleigh Garden, which runs from South Broad Street to South Ann Street between Fry Street and Government Street; and Old Dauphin Way from North Broad Street to Houston Street between Conti Street and Spring Hill Avenue.

Historic areas feature quaint homes as well as charming dining and shopping options. Antique shops and clothing boutiques dot the streets. Midtown is home to Mobile’s oldest restaurant—The Dew Drop Inn—which opened in 192 on South Ann Street. It’s second location opened around 1930, where it still operates today. Other Midtown eateries include Callaghan’s Irish Social Club and Cammie’s Old Dutch Ice Cream Shoppe. Antiques at the Loop, the Antique Emporium at MAH and Cotton City Antique Mall are just a few local antique shops that can be spotted easily from main roads, highlighting Midtown’s long history.
